We’ve all been approached by a friend, a family member, or even a stranger at the supermarket wanting to share the newest and greatest lotion, potion, or pill that will cure whatever is ailing us. I would dare say that weight-loss products are the number one top selling —  uh — SCAMS! Yep, I said it. It is fascinating to me that these companies know people will pay out the wahzoo for a supplement and a false promise to become fit (and healthy). Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but:

Detox plans—don’t work

Fat burning pills—don’t work

Anti-cellulite cream—doesn’t work

Meal replacement shakes—don’t work

I could go on and on.  Initially, some of these supplements look like they work as there will be a drop in weight (water weight). When you significantly cut back on calories, putting yourself in a calorie deficit, yeah, you will lose weight.  However, these things are not sustainable in the long run.

Simply put, supplements do NOT work.  I’m not saying that I have never fallen for a good gimmick, but I have learned through personal experience that the ORIGINAL weight-loss supplements of DIET and EXERCISE are the ONLY “supplements” that truly work.

There will never be a fast and speedy way to lose weight.  So save your money! All it takes is consistent hard work, determination and balance.

You’ve got this!
